There are lots of trails in the Greensboro area, and some very long rides can be contrived by combining a little greenway and some road. TriangleMTB cannot due the area justice, and the trails are well worth a day trip, but we will include the area on our map, but the real source of info is Greensboro Fat Tire Society.
Blue Heron is the newest trail in the area. Built in 2009, it stretches 3.25 miles along the north shore of Lake Townsend.
Country Park has 5 miles of nice singletrack and a relatively large dirt jump area.
Bur Mill and Owl's Roost have approximately 9 miles of nice trails very near Lake Brandt.
Higgins Lake (aka Bald Eagle) has 4.5 miles of trail along the shore of Higgins Lake beginning from the marina.
Kingfisher (1.1 miles of trail) is along the northern shore of Lake Townsend accross the street from the east end of Blue Heron
Reedy Fork (3.8 miles of trail) is along the northern shore of Lake Townsend between Lake Brandt Rd. and N. Church St, just west of Blue Heron.
Wild Turkey is a beautiful 4 miles of flowing singletrack along the southern shore of Lake Brandt between the greenway and the marina.
